18-wheeler causes second of state's car accidents in one night

Two people recently died in two different accidents along the same stretch of highway in the state. The second accident included nine vehicles and was said to be the fault of a tractor-trailer driver. Although not in Miami, it was one of four car accidents that took place in one Florida county within just a few hours of each other.

One person died and several others were injured in the pileup that included four 18-wheelers and hundreds of gallons of spilled fuel. As cars sat on the Interstate waiting for the first accident to be cleared up, a semi driver failed to stop and instead proceeded to hit the guardrail. His truck then sideswiped a van, a FedEx truck and then several other cars, both commercial and personal, before coming to a stop.

One man was reported to have been pronounced dead at the scene. Nine others, including three children, were injured and taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Some of the injuries were said to be serious while the others were minor. The victims ranged in age from 2 to 64 years old. It is unclear why the semi-driver failed to stop for the waiting traffic.

When semi trucks are involved in car accidents in Miami, Florida, the damage can be devastating. Those who are injured in such crashes, or lose loved ones, may never fully recover from the trauma. In most cases, a personal injury lawyer can help the victim to pursue damages in a wrongful death or personal injury lawsuit. This compensation can help to pay for medical bills, time lost from work and other financial hardships that the victims and families face because of the wreck.
