Two main considerations when filing claims for bicycle accidents

Florida state has always been an attractive destination for tourists as well as seniors looking to escape the cold. At times, these two demographics may both be at risk from native residents who may not be as attentive to either pedestrians or bicyclists who are enjoying the warmer climate with outdoor activities. However, in the event riders suffer injuries due to bicycle accidents, there are two main considerations when contemplating filing a personal injury claim.

Fatal Florida bicycle accidents can occur at any time or place

Across Florida, bicycles are a popular mode of transportation for young and old alike. The warm climate and the layout of many city streets are inviting to riders no matter the time of day. Unfortunately, serious bicycle accidents can occur without warning no matter how familiar one may be with a particular neighborhood.

Tampa bicycle accidents: Even worse when hit-and-runs?

Bicycle accidents are bad enough, but a hit-and-run accident involving a cyclist is almost like adding insult to injury. In a city right across the bay from Tampa, just such a hit-and-run bicycle accident occurred recently. Luckily, police believe they may have found the driver who was involved, though the incident is still under investigation.

Bicycle accidents plague Florida school children

Walking or biking to school can be a joy for many children. Unfortunately, not every child in Jacksonville and Tampa have access to a safe route to school, and getting there can put them in danger. One Florida mother recently began tracking the number of pedestrian and bicycle accidents for the children at her local school after courtesy busing to the area was cancelled.

Tampa man survives one of the town's bicycle accidents

On what he described as a typical Tampa morning, one man was struck while riding his bike to work. Bicycle accidents are a significant concern in communities throughout Florida. About 10 miles into his daily commute, a vehicle operated by a drunk driver struck the cyclist at about 6:45 a.m. Reportedly, the driver had a blood alcohol content over three times the legal limit. At the time of the crash, the bicycle had both bright and flashing headlights operating, as well as lights on the back of the bike and on the handlebars.
